Sarah Fairbanks is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She specializes in couples, using techniques from Emotionally Focused Therapy and The Gottman Method to help clients move from distress or distance to healing. Sarah focuses on helping clients change their interaction cycles by promoting safety in session and helping clients learn, through
emotional processing and effective communication, how to bond securely with eachother.
Sarah also works with individuals through a systemic lens. She understands that, regardless of a client’s struggle, the interplay of relationships, past and present, affect the client. Sarah enjoys helping individual clients identify and explore emotion to reach healing as well as cognitive behavioral work to help clients function more fully through depression and anxiety. She especially enjoys working with clients in
transitional situations such as aging, role changes, and other life events.
