Charnequa A. Kennedy, M.Ed., NCC, NCSC has been a counseling professional for 10 years with experience in the educational and clinical setting. She currently works as a therapist and director of clinical services for Ross Behavioral Group/ The Ross Center. Charnequa completed her graduate studies at South Carolina State University with a M.Ed. in Counselor Education and her undergraduate work at the College of Charleston with a B.S. in Psychology. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree as a joint Ed.S./Ed.D. program in Educational Psychology at Regent University. Charnequa holds National Board Certification as a Counselor (NCC) and School Counselor (NCSC). In addition to those certifications, she is a certified Career Development Facilitator (GCDF), former CPI trainer for non-violent crisis prevention and holds educator licensure in South Carolina and Tennessee for K-12 in school counseling. Prior to becoming a counselor, Charnequa served as a program director for a youth development initiative in the non-profit sector and later a leadership development specialist/seminar instructor in higher education.
Charnequa serves as the 2016-2017 President of the Middle TN Counseling Association, a chapter of the Tennessee Counseling Association. In addition, Charnequa serves as a conference proposal reviewer for the American Counseling Association. Charnequa’s areas of interest are in supporting the social-emotional growth and development of children and adults who are gifted/2E and the educational success of students for whom achievement gaps exist. With a primary focus on children and adolescents, Charnequa works with clients, childhood-adulthood to develop a variety of tools and skill sets that allow them to be the best version of themselves.
Outside of her professional obligations, Charnequa is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
